The Parts Page...

E-mail Print PDF

As I have been cleaning up the garage and spare bedroom getting ready to get back on the car, I
have found several interesting parts that I thought I would share.  Where I can remember, I will also
post the source for anyone who is interested.

SPL solid differential mounts.  These allow using the later style Z32 (Q45 in my case) differentials in an
S13 subframe.  They replace the rubber bushings that can come apart and allow the diff to drop.

Z32 transmission adapter from Austin Hoke, A. Hoke Performance.  There have been a couple of
these done that I know of, I think Austin is done with them for a while.  If I remember correctly Mazworx
did the first ones, but they were very expensive and I heard of a few issues.  The idea here is that all of
the transmissions that bolt up to an L28, including the T5, start having issues much ver 300 HP.  The Z32
tranny's are much stronger.  You do pay for that in weight though.  I stole one of Austins pictures...

Here are some links to threads on HybridZ about the adapters and Z32 the Z32 transmission conversion.

Z32 Transmission Install Version 2 - Austins original thread.

Z32 Transmission Install - Garrett's install thread using the Maxworx kit.

Z32 Transmission Adapters and Shift Mounts - Austins last batch for sale in the HybridZ vendors area.

These pedals are awesome, and came with "Datsun" and a BRE stripe.  If I remember correctly there
were a few options on the logos.  These were on e-Bay for a while, I can't remember the seller and I
don't see them now.

Stainless engine bolt kit from Z Car Creations, this will not only look good, but solves the problem of finding
all the old bolts, or replacements !

A Bosch external fuel pump, supposed to be more flow, and maybe more reliable than the standard
Walbro 255 pump, certainly costs a little more.  The best price I found at the time was JayRacing.com a
DSM shop.  Great service from what I remember.  This pump is rated at 325 LPH @ 50 PSI, or "400 LPH
the way Walbro tests their pumps" according to some sources....  In other words, far more than I will need.

These urethane 280Z hood vents were another e-Bay find that I have lost track of.  I have all the installation
instructions, etc, but no company name or contact info.  I love these, they fit the stock holes and are a nice
modernization without being over the top.

The steering wheel is a LeCarra that I purchased from a friend who intended to use it on a Porsche, but changed
his mind.  This is another item that I think has a kind of retro modern styling that works with the car.  The horn
button is billet with a recessed logo, available from Summit Racing.  At worst, I will replace the "LeCarra" emblem
with a "Datsun" or "Z" emblem. I'm hoping that I can get a better looking custom logo made.  Seems LeCarra
actually made a "Datsun" button themselves at one time, but it was discontinued.  I check e-Bay occasionally just
in case.  I'm not sure that LeCarra even makes this sport line any longer, Summit only carries hot rod styles.  There
are some, "leather like urethane" wheels in the "other" section of their web site in the same style, but this is
a high quality leather wrapped wheel....

I was able to order the LeCarra adapter for the Z through LeCarra / Moto-Lita directly, or through Summit one.  Bolt
on, no fuss....
