The Road to Hell is Paved with my Intentions

E-mail Print PDF

If anyone is paying attention, you might notice that I have shaken up a few things around here....  That's the plan anyway !  Starting now, I am getting off my ass...  I have too many projects, and I rarely work on any of them.  I'm pretty confident in myself, I can do damn near anything I try, problem is once my initial spark of enthusiasm wears off, I lack initiative.

While searching for two part urethane foam last week, I ran across the blog of a guy who purchased an old, rusty north sea fishing trawler to convert to a live aboard ship.  I caught up on 5 years of this guys life in a few days through his web site and blog.  He has done more on his project in this period of time than I have on any of mine.  This guy can transform a trawler in five years, and I can't even build a car.  If you are interested in ships, big mechanical things, or massive projects, Tim Zims blog is worth checking out.

My plan is to draw inspiration from people like Tim, and to use one of his tools.  After all, the original intent of this site was to showcase and document my hobbies, especially my major project, My Datsun 280Z, Speedster Z.  If I commit myself to doing something, and documenting it at least weekly, maybe I can maintain initiative.  At the very least I can open myself up for public humiliation by announcing to my friends and family that this is what I plan to do.  If I follow through, then those who share my interests can follow along, and I will have what I intended in the first place, a documented history and showcase of my projects.
